What happens during conversion
Each image becomes a page of the PDF, in the order you dropped the files. The original resolution is preserved: a photo taken on a phone stays readable and zoomable in the resulting document.
One thing to keep in mind: JPG is already a lossy format. Moving to PDF adds no further degradation, but it cannot recover quality lost when the photo was taken or passed through a messaging app.
